Lost at Sea

This solo violin work was the first piece that I composed as a student of the conservatorium. It illustrates one getting lost out at sea during a storm. The use of chromaticism and changes in time signature create an unsettling feeling, depicting the rocking of a boat as the tempestuous waves crash into it. Towards the ending of the piece there is a change in mood, suggesting that the storm has come to an end.
